Strootman recovers for Chelsea, Manolas out. Opinions on social media divided

IlMessaggero.it: Falling victim to Napoli will not help Roma ahead of an even more complicated test against Chelsea in the Champions League. And in addition to the psychological aspect, Di Francesco will not be able to count on Manolas, who is out with a muscle injury (he will undergo examinations tomorrow) that will keep the defender out for at least a week.

At Stamford Bridge, Strootman, who is now training with the team, will be available while Pellegrini must be evaluated after having pain in his calf. The central defenders, meanwhile, will be Fazio and Juan Jesus.

The defeat against Sarri’s men has divided Roma fans on social media: some have thrown in the towel by surrendering to the supremacy of Napoli and Juventus, while others agreed with Kolarov’s statements at the end of the match: “Napoli did not deserve to win and are not stronger. It is still early, everything will be accounted for at the end of the season.” Everyone, however, agrees on the inadequacy of De Rossi, who was udged to be poor and distracted throughout the match.

Statements by fans on Roma’s social media accounts were split. “This year is also we will win next year,” was one comment while another was, “We lost to a first class team but we weren’t poor, either.”

Roma are now nine points from the top with a match in hand, Schick and Karsdorp have not yet demonstrated their real value. There are areas to improve, but Di Francesco will have to hurry because the train for the Scudetto has already started to leave and it will be difficult to reach it in time.
