The transfer window in Italy officially closed yesterday evening at 20.00 CET – marking an end to the abnormal and atypical period that clubs throughout Europe experienced due to the COVID-19 crisis.

It was an especially particular transfer market period for Roma as they bid farewell to former President James Pallotta, who sold the club to Dan and Ryan Friedkin of The Friedkin Group – a deal that was made official on the 17th of August.

The father-son duo, who were officially confirmed last week by the club’s Board of Directors as the new President and Vice President of Roma, did not appoint a Sporting Director upon their arrival and entrusted all transfer market activity to Roma CEO Guido Fienga and fellow executive Morgan De Sanctis.

Given his lack of knowledge and familiarity of the transfer market, Fienga appointed two prominent Italian agents (Gabriele Giuffrida and Paolo Busardò) to assist him in several outgoing and incoming operations, all of which are below.
