Summit in Rome to decide on barriers removal date

La Repubblica: A summit on Monday, 27 March in Rome has been set to decide when to permanently remove the barriers at the Olimpico.

There are two possibilities: before Roma-Empoli on 1 April or a few days later for the Derby in the Coppa Italia. But not much will change: instead of barriers, there will be stewards and cameras. Those who move from one sector to another or create problems will be fined (and disbarring for repeat offenders). “What happened before won’t happen again,” is the guarantee being repeated by the police. Now, will the fans return or were the barriers only an alibi?
