After a convincing Euro 2020 tournament, Robin Olsen hoped to find a new team to join as soon as possible. That hasn’t been the case so far.
The Swedish shot-stopper, who spent last season on loan at Everton, was the first choice to replace Mike Maignan. However, the French side haven’t found an agreement with Roma.
The reigning Ligue 1 champions wanted to bring in Olsen on loan with an option to buy, while Roma wanted to make the deal permanent. Moreover, Lille insisted on Roma covering part of the player’s salary for the duration of the upcoming campaign. Tiago Pinto promptly refused.
As a result, talks between the two clubs are close to breaking down.
According to Sky Sport, Lille are veering toward Benfica goalkeeper Vlachodimos.
