RomaPress – Switzerland international Granit Xhaka is one of the top priorities for Roma and new manager, José Mourinho.
The midfielder is closing in on a permanent move to the Italian capital from Arsenal after being placed near the top of Mourinho’s summer wishlist.
Individuals both within Roma and the player’s entourage confirmed that a complete agreement is edging closer, with the final piece being an agreement between the clubs.
The Giallorossi already have an agreement in place with José Noguera, Xhaka’s agent, for a four-year contract and remain engaged in negotiations with Arsenal on a transfer fee.
Xhaka is pushing to have the deal concluded before Switzerland kick-off their Euro 2020 campaign on Saturday against Wales.
