Roma forward Tammy Abraham discussed at length the prospect of playing up front with Paulo Dybala as well as his personal ambitions for the upcoming campaign.
“The last one was a good season, but I always want the next one to be the best of my career,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I hope I can beat my personal goal record. Without haste, however, because I don’t fee yet one hundred percent ready. On the other hand, at this point in preseason, no one is. I hope to be ready for Salernitana.”
On the arrival of Paulo Dybala, Abraham said, “I think it’s a privilege to have such a strong player become part of our team.”
“It means a lot for the fans, who in fact gave me a fantastic welcome. The message seems clear to me: the club is developing a great technical project and the results are there for everyone to see.”
When asked about whether he’s afraid that Dybala might climb over him as a fan favorite, Abraham did not hesitate in his reply. “There can be two kings in Rome.”
“The objective for next season is to return to the Champions League,” he added.
“I would tell a lie if I said I don’t want to win the Scudetto. We all want to win it, but we have to prove our value on the pitch. We have a great team, a great club and a great coach. Only the sky is the limit.”
