Roma attacker Tammy Abraham was back on the pitch for the first time since his ACL injury in June 2023.
The English attacker came on in the second half of Roma’s 1-0 win over Lazio in today’s Derby della Capitale.
In his post-match interview with DAZN, Abraham discussed the feelings behind tonight’s appearance.
“For me it’s a special match but the season must end in the best possible way. We are satisfied with today’s performance,” he said.
“I think that when I returned to the pitch and the crowd chanted my name I felt an inexplicable emotion. It was very exciting, but I came in to help the team, not for my own glory.”
“It was incredible to be around De Rossi in these days. You could tell from his voice how much this game meant to him. This is really important to us. He still feels like a player inside and we are happy to work with him.”
