Tammy Abraham joined Jose Mourinho in addressing the media ahead of Roma’s match against Bodo/Glimt in the Conference League.

On his recent form:

“In football there are good times and more difficult ones. It’s when it get tough that you learn the most. For me it is the best time to show my leadership and help the team. It happens to go through difficult times.”

“I am a player who always wants to be there and somehow I put aside physical problems. I don’t want to have excuses.”

“I hope to get back 100% as soon as possible. I fell in love with this club from day one. It is my way to show my passion for the club. The club believed a lot in me and it’s up to me to pay back with good performances.”

On challenges in switching from Premier League to Serie A:

“I would not say that I’m going through difficulties with adapting. Football always comes with challenges. I have had to play against and with Mourinho in some circumstances.”

“It is again a challenging context, where you learn every day. The whole team is getting to know each other every day. Once we have learned everything we will be a great team. We are getting to know each other better every day.”

“Rome was not built in one day.”

On the tactical side of Serie A:

“I grew up playing against the national teams, especially at the youth level. I knew what awaited me. It is part of the learning and growing process.”

“I am young, I come from a more open style of football. It is part of my growth process to learn about the weaknesses of certain teams and players. I am sure that very good things will come in the future.”

On the 6-1 defeat to Bodo:

“You don’t expect to lose when you hit the pitch, you don’t want to lose like that. It was a bad match to say the least and tomorrow we have the opportunity to show what we really want.”

“We are facing an excellent team as seen in previous games. Tomorrow we play to win.”

On taking penalties over Veretout:

“No, as a striker I would always like to score. At that moment against Juve I felt confident. In Turin I was ready to take it.”

“We know what the hierarchy is. Jordan is an extraordinary penalty taker. I hope to get back to scoring soon.”
