Roma striker Tammy Abraham was interviewed by UEFA’s official website following yesterday’s success over Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League semi-finals.
The Giallorossi posted another clean sheet against the German side, advancing to the final where they’ll face Sevilla in Budapest later this month.
“You could see in the game we defended all 90 minutes. Sometimes when you’re playing a good team you have games like this (where you play defensively),” stated the attacker.
“I’m proud of my team. I had no doubt that we would come here and try to get a result.”
He added, “Fair play to my teammates and myself because that game wasn’t easy, give credit to Bayer Leverkusen, they played some beautiful football. I’m sure they’ll get stronger.”
“However, tonight showed our mentality and that we have great character among us. Even though the team could tell I was frustrated from defending most of the game, they kept encouraging me and lifting me the entire game.”
“To have players like this in the team, I’m very proud and honored. Now we’re going to the final and hopefully now we can lift another trophy.”
