Tammy Abraham – author of one of the two goals that gave Roma the advantage over Paolo Zanetti’s Empoli in tonight’s Serie A encounter – spoke about the team’s reaction following the humiliating loss in Coppa Italia to Cremonese.
“I think this was the right reaction on our part, we were disappointed after the defeat against Cremonese, but these things happen,” he told Roma TV after the match.
“Today in the first half we looked like a team that could fight for a trophy. We mostly controlled the result in the second half. We are very happy with the win and we must continue like this.”
“My teammates and I have to give everything for the team, I had no more energy left at fulltime, I did what I could right up to the end, we need these performances to win. We are good at set pieces, we are very strong at corner kicks, where I have to be in the right place. Today I was and I could have headed two or three more.”
