Roma are sweating leading goalscorer Tammy Abraham’s status ahead of their league fixture on Sunday evening.
The Englishman suffered a groin strain in the final minutes of Tuesday’s Coppa Italia defeat versus Inter. Manager José Mourinho substituted the attacker and brought on Felix in his place.
Abraham hasn’t participated in a full training session since the injury, being limited to individual work with the club’s training staff. However, Ansa reports Mourinho hopes to have him back in full training tomorrow.
Should the 24 year-old complete tomorrow’s session without any discomfort then he’s widely expected to travel with his teammates to Reggio Emilia.
Even though the club is optimistic he’ll recover, they won’t take any risks if he doesn’t feel completely ready. As a result, Abraham would likely be replaced by fellow striker Eldor Shomurodov in Mourinho’s starting formation.
