Tavecchio: “I apologise to all Italians.”

Speaking at the Federal Council, Carlo Tavecchio spoke to members upon handing in his resignation as FIGC president. These are his words via SportItalia and Ansa:

“I’m sorry. I leave because I have lost. I apologise to all the Italians. I’ve failed, so I will go home. Ambitions and political strife have prevented us from confronting the reasons for the National team’s result. I have taken note in the change of attitude of some of you.”
