The father of Genoa striker Gianluca Scamacca arrested at Roma’s training ground


The father of Genoa striker Gianluca Scamacca was arrested at Roma’s training ground yesterday after a bizarre incident.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Emiliano Scamacca was taken into custody by police yesterday afternoon after causing at disturbance at Trigoria.

Reportedly, the elder Scamacca arrived unannounced and proceeded to threaten multiple staff members and even youth players with an iron rod. Not long thereafter, he began to vandalise the cars of several prominent Roma executives, including Tiago Pinto, Morgan De Sanctis, and Maurizio Lombardo.

The motive behind Scamacca’s outburst is unknown. Though, his son, a former youth prospect at Roma, has been linked with a move back to the Giallorossi once the transfer window reopens. However, it remains to be seen how or if this incident will impact a potential reunion.
