RomaPress – Roma have identified 21 year-old Atalanta defender Ibañez as a potential reinforcement for January and they are pushing to acquire the Brazilian.
Both Bologna and the Giallorossi agreed to a deal with Atalanta earlier this week for the player: an 18-month loan with an obligation to buy in June 2021. However, Ibañez has not yet decided on which club to join.
Frederico Moraes, the agent of the player, is set to arrive in Italy in the coming hours and will meet with both clubs on Wednesday.
The Brazilian agent spoke very briefly to RomaPress about the situation of his client, “Wednesday is an important day. Though, I’m not sure if it will be the final one (to complete the transfer”.
At the moment, Bologna remain in the lead for Ibañez because they can offer more playing-time assurances — which is one of his priorities for his next destination. Moraes will meet with Roma sporting Gianluca Petrachi in Milano on Wednesday, which could be the decisive day where we learn of the Brazilian’s decision.
