Roma general manager Tiago Pinto was asked about the upcoming transfer window just moments before the start of the capital club’s league clash against Sampdoria.
The Giallorossi have been heavily linked with moves for a new right back and defensive midfielder, however, the Portuguese executive moved quickly to shoot down some of the speculation.
“Look at the team after the disaster against Bodø, guys like Kumbulla were considered out of the club but the situation has changed,” he told DAZN.
“This is how football is. We made a huge mess of things that evening but we had the ability to recover.”
He continued, “The transfer market is dynamic, the doors are always open at a club like Roma and we have to work to become stronger and more aligned just as I and the manager have constantly said.”
“But I can tell you confidently that 90% of the names that have been thrown out by the media are lies.”
