Speaking before kick-off, Roma general manager Tiago Pinto lauded the atmosphere at the Stadio Olimpico this evening.
The Giallorossi face Bodø/Glimt in the second leg of their Conference League quarterfinal tie and are looking to overturn their current 2-1 aggregate deficit.
“Any words I use might be wrong—this environment is better than any word I could use to describe it,” he told Sky Sport.
“I was expecting a fiery environment but these supporters are incredible and they’ve been so all season. We’ve felt their support all day from the moment we left Trigoria. All of us together want to advance to the semi-finals.”
Pinto was also asked about the return of Nicolo Zaniolo in the Giallorossi’s starting eleven.
“Before the match against Salernitana I was asked a question about Nicolò and I said that he will 100% be important for us.”
He added, “This is a particular season for him after dealing with injuries for the past two years.”
