Tiago Pinto backs Borja Mayoral against Milan in wake of Dzeko absence: “He’s having a great season.”

Moments before Roma kick-off against Milan, the capital club’s General Director, Tiago Pinto, called on the team to maintain a winning mentality.

The Portuguese executive explained that Roma must keep the same mentality for every single match – regardless of the opponent.

“Roma must approach every single game as if it were a final, whether it’s against Milan or Benevento,” he said to Sky Sport.

“Our mentality must always stay the same: to grab three points. It’s normal that we study on a specific opponent, but we must keep the focus on ourselves. I’m confident that we can do well tonight.”

Pinto then discussed Roma’s striker situation due to Edin Dzeko’s unavailability this evening because of injury.

“Edin was in good form, so it’s a shame he won’t be available this evening,” he explained. “We hope he can return as soon as possible.”

“Borja Mayoral is having a great season, though. He’s always given a good response when he plays. He will do everything he can do have a good performance tonight.”
