Tiago Pinto blasts Zaniolo: “Someone put individual interests ahead of the team.”

General Manager Tiago Pinto addressed the speculations into Zaniolo’s recent decision to depart the Italian capital before the end of the January window, excluding himself from tonight’s match against Spezia.

The Portuguese director sounded particularly irritated with Zaniolo and his agent, Claudio Vigorelli, in a pre-match interview with DAZN.

“Someone tried putting individual interests ahead of those of the team,” he told the Italian broadcaster.

“This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Everyone here today has the desire and motivation to fight for the team and bring home three points.”

Adding, “Perhaps I’ve gotten it wrong sometimes, but from the very first day I got here until my last one the interests of the team will always come first before individuals.”
