Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto addressed the future of coach Jose Mourinho in a recent interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport where he also previewed the upcoming Derby della Capitale with Lazio.
“Roma is the club Mourinho has been the happiest with in a long time,” said the Portuguese director. “We’ll talk about his future later in the season. Now the only thing he wants is to win,” he added.
“Derby? It is not like any other game. In order to win we must remain calm and play with passion.”
“The routine leading up to the game is the same, we have dinner together, the players rest. Then when the game approaches, we start to feel something out of the ordinary, but we have to normalize this experience.”
“We must bring home the three points, but playing against Lazio is not like playing against Empoli,” Pinto remarked.
“All fans must be respected, but Roma fans are truly special. Many stadiums in the world are full every weekend, but the support is not that intense.”
“When we don’t win I feel ashamed, because here people cheer from the first to the last minute. My objective is to give people what they want.”
