Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto discussed the challenge of facing a team of Juventus’ caliber at the start of the new season and touched upon the club’s growth under coach José Mourinho in a pre-match interview with DAZN.
“Serie A is a very competitive league,” said the Portuguese director. “Every time you play against a team that aspires to Champions League football is going to be difficult.”
“We have to show everyone what we’re made of, we must give people a response. Our mentality is that every game should be against Juventus.”
When asked about Roma’s ambitions for the league’s top standings, Pinto shared the importance of having Mourinho as the manager in charge of the team, “I think that when we got Mourinho we knew what we wanted. Just like last season, we always want to improve.”
“Our main worry should be getting better with each day. Mourinho motivates everyone to be better and we’re on the right path. It’s too early to put us in the conversation for the Scudetto.”
