Negotiations for Georginio Wijnaldum’s arrival in the Italian capital are ongoing. However, as several reports claim, this may be the week in which Roma and PSG find an agreement for the Dutchman’s transfer.
According to Il Tempo, Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto met with Wijnaldum’s agent at Trigoria on Monday morning.
The meeting served to narrow the distances between Roma’s financial proposal and Wijnaldum’s salary demands.
For the time being, the capital club are confident in landing the 31-year-old who is pushing to join Jose Mourinho’s side in this summer window.
Furthermore, the Italian newspaper reports that Tiago Pinto and Paris Saint-Germain executive Luis Campos may decide to meet in Israel, where the Giallorossi are set to face Tottenham in a friendly. PSG will also be there as they will fight for the French Supercup.
Thus, the two directors could use this as an opportunity to finalize a deal for Wijnaldum who has been excluded from PSG’s preseason training. Roma are pushing to close the deal on the basis of a loan with option to buy.
