After attending the announcement of Roma’s calendar of fixtures for next season, General Manager Tiago Pinto spoke to DAZN and touched upon a number of important topics including Edin Dzeko’s future as well as Roma’s decision to appoint José Mourinho as head coach.

Pinto hinted at Dzeko staying at the club for another season despite the rumors of him wanting to leave.

“Dzeko’s very motivated and is in great physical shape. Mourinho motivates all players the same way but he has a special rapport with Dzeko. We hope he’ll stay with us for this upcoming season.”

The General Manager spoke about The Special One and his relationship with the Friedkins.

“Someone like Mourinho is convinced by projects, ideas but also passion. He immediately connected with the Friedkins. He’s won everything and yet we managed to convince him to come here. I think he’s found the right challenge at Roma.”

Pinto concluded by addressing the long-term project of the club.

“When it comes to winning, we want to immediately win tomorrow’s friendly. I think Mourinho was right when during his press conference he said that everybody talks about titles and trophies when all we should be talking about is hard work. This doesn’t mean we don’t want to win, but we’re aware that the path to victory includes a lot of hard work. If we work well, the titles and trophies will come.”
