Tiago Pinto praises Mourinho’s youth management

General Manager Tiago Pinto was recently awarded the Maestrelli prize for the club’s achievements in the youth sector.

The Portuguese director made an online appearance where he presented the following speech:

“Thank you all for this award, I’m sorry I can’t be present with you there. I know it’s an important prize for Italian football. I’m even more pleased, because it’s an award to the youth sector and to the bet that we at Roma have made in this field.”

“It’s not only my own way of thinking about football, but I think it’s an important thing for Roma and for Italian football as well, because in Italy there is a lot of talent and we just have to create the right way to get these talents to the first team.”

“You mentioned the final of the Conference League, I think this shows that it is possible to make a project for young people and combine this with sporting success.”

“Many times there is talk of disparity between success and younger players but I think there are many examples in world football where the two things go together and develop.”

“All these sports projects can’t go on without a coach. We chose a technician who, in addition to being very good, gave a lot of importance to Roma’s youth sector. If we have been successful in this path, much of the credit is also his. Thank you again for this award and I hope to be with you next time”
