On Mourinho and changing the track record against big teams:
“We appointed Mourinho to win all games. It is clear that the games with big teams are always the ones that have the most energy, they feel more important but are always worth 3 points like against Empoli or Verona.”
“With a coach like Mourinho who has experience and quality it is normal that when I say that Roma are stronger it is because of him. “
On expectations and whether Roma still have confidence in the likes of Villar or if they will rely on the January window:
“We have a difficult series of games coming up, we cannot make a difference between the games against the big teams from the others. Last season we didn’t win the big matches, this season we expect to do better but we can’t put so much pressure on the matches because they are worth 3 points.”
“On Villar: it’s always like this in football, 3-4 weeks ago we talked about Diawara and now we talk about Villar. The season is long, we are waiting for the see the work that the coach has done this week with Gonzalo, who is a good professional, boy and player.”
On what Roma feared when Abraham exited England’s game with an injury:
“International breaks are very tiring for players. For them it is a dream to play with the national team and for me it is a problem of the heart. We hire the players, pay their salaries and they play more matches in the national team. I watch all the matches and have notifications, because I’m afraid something might happen. Injuries happen because it is impossible to play so much in a short time.”
