Roma executive Tiago Pinto was asked about Jose Mourinho’s and the January transfer market minutes ahead of the Giallorossi’s league clash against Lecce.
The 35 year-old insisted the Special One’s future with the club isn’t in doubt, reiterating how important his leadership has been to the team.
“I’m always accused of not speaking much but I addressed this topic for 35 minutes on Wednesday. Though, I’m happy to discuss Lecce or (sporting director) Corvino, who I consider among the best,” Pinto told DAZN.
“Is there pressure on the team? We have our leader in Mourinho and we’re all in the same boat looking to advance towards our objectives, one of which is the Champions League.”
He added, “But we’re not acting as if everything is perfect if we qualify or that everyone will exit if we don’t.”
“As for the transfer market, what happened happened. It’s true the Zaniolo deal blocked our ability to make additional moves but we’re moving on. Today Gini is available and we’re looking ahead.”
“We can’t sit here whining or making excuses. Let’s see what happens.”
