Roma want to prioritize Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s contract extension as the season begins to wind down, reports Corriere dello Sport.
The 33-year-old’s recent decision to quit the Armenian national team indicated that the player wants to fully focus on his remaining club career.
According to the Italian newspaper, the Giallorossi are convinced that an agreement will be reached in the coming weeks that will enable Mkhitaryan to prolong his stay in the capital for another year or two, depending on the veteran’s demands.
Tiago Pinto was set to meet with the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, a few days ago but because of Raiola’s health issues the meeting did not take place.
Another appointment will be given at Trigoria in the near future, with Pinto wanting to seal the deal before the end of the campaign.
