Parma have ended their pursuit of Roma defender Federico Fazio.
The Gialloblu had been engaged in discussions with the Argentine defender since last weekend after the club struck a deal with Roma to acquire the player on a permanent transfer.
Fazio, though, was unconvinced by the Emilian’s proposal and never accepted their offer to depart the Italian capital and join Roberto D’Aversa’s side.
After waiting multiple days for a concrete decision from the 33 year-old, Parma turned their attention to Genoa’s Mattia Bani, who will join the club on loan with an option to buy, according to Sky Sport.
The former Tottenham defender still has eighteen months remaining on his contract with the Giallorossi, who were eager to sell him in order to free up his wages, and it’s increasingly likely that he will see out the remainder of his deal in Rome.
