Italian starlet Tommaso Baldanzi is being linked with a summer move to a top club in Italy next year.
The Empoli midfielder has been vocal about wanting to move to a bigger stage and is aiming to depart the Tuscan club in 2024.
In a recent interview with Sport Mediaset, Baldanzi’s agent – Federico Pastorello – confirmed that Roma were among the teams to express interest in his client over the course of the summer.
“Fiorentina are the ones to have come closest to Tommaso,” Pastorello commented. “We also spoke to Roma this summer.”
“Baldanzi is 20 years old, the greatest talent of his class in Italy, the only one who has played consistent minutes in Italy.”
“Unfortunately we weren’t able to find the right buyer this summer, also because he wasn’t ready to consider offers from abroad, so the teams willing to meet our demands. But staying at Empoli was the right decision, because he’s still young, he can grow, he has the chance to make mistakes without too much pressure. I’m sure Tommaso will be a young protagonist in this Serie A campaign.”
