Torino unwilling to meet Roma’s demands for Eldor Shomurodov

Andy Mattioli

Roma striker Eldor Shomurodov could be on the move in January once the winter transfer market officially reopens.

After a difficult first term in the Italian capital last season, the Uzbekistan international hasn’t fared much better this season, primarily featuring from the bench.

Since joining the Giallorossi in the summer of 2021 from Genoa, Shomurodov has collected only 6 goals and 6 assists in 48 total appearances.

Sitting firmly behind Tammy Abraham, Nicolo Zaniolo, and Paulo Dybala in Jose Mourinho’s pecking order, the Uzbekistan international is in search of consistent minutes and is increasingly open to leaving Roma in January.

According to calciomercato.com, Shomurodov’s preferred destination remains Torino. However, the Granata are reportedly unwilling to meet Roma’s demands: the capital club want to sell Shomurodov, whereas Torino are only interested in a loan.
