Tottenham pursue Jordan Veretout

Jordan Veretout has been subject to several transfer market rumors including ones linking him with Newcastle United. The latest one puts the Frenchman’s name alongside Tottenham Hotspurs.

Spurs, under the leadership of new sporting director Fabio Paratici, are considering Jordan Veretout for Antonio Conte’s midfield, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Veretout’s stay at Roma is far from guaranteed in a season filled with ups and downs and a recent dip in form and the French box-to-box midfielder may listen to offers for June. Earlier reports of negotiations over a potential contract renewal have ceased in recent weeks.

After spending the past five years in Italy, Veretout may decide to return to England after his ill-fated loan spell at Aston Villa in 2015/16.
