Former Roma captain and director Francesco Totti was spoke today during the unveiling of author Paolo Condo’s latest book. These are his words via Sky Sport:
Are you pleased with Paulo Fonseca’s Roma?
I am happy with the period the team is in and that Fonseca has understood what it means to be in Rome. He has transmitted positivity and energy to a team that was initially in difficulty and with holes. Let’s hope it’s a positive path because Roma must be amongst the giants of Europe.
If you could relive one period of your life, what would it be?
Not one, but all 25 years spent with Roma, even the moments of difficulty.
What is one period you wouldn’t want to relive?
My last season as a player. The way everything happened: I regretted being targeted and the scapegoat for everything. But at the same time, I tried to put the team before everything. Roma should be Roma and Totti was part of the group of Roma.
What do you think of Pellegrini?
He was a ball boy when I played, he watched from afar. He is a player who can make decisive passes. I like him but I prefer not to talk about him. He wore the captain’s armband for the first time.
