Totti: “Unfortunately, the time has come.”

Roma captain Francesco Totti addressed the fans in a final farewell as he bids goodbye to his playing career:

“Unfortunately the time has come. I wish it would’ve never arrived. I’ve read a ton of things about me these last few days. Really beautiful things and I cried alone, like a crazy person. I want to thank everyone here. Even if it isn’t easy. You all know I’m not a man of many words. I sat down with my wife in the last couple days to tell her a few things about this jersey. I want to thank my parents, my wife, and my children. I wanted to write you all a poem but I can express myself better with my feet.”

Totti then signed and kicked a ball that said: “I will miss you” into the be stands.”
