Roma talisman and former captain Francesco Totti has been dealt a horrific blow today as his father, Enzo, has passed away.
Il Tempo reports that Totti’s father was recently hospitalised at the Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital, an infectious disease hospital in Rome, after having recently contracted the dangerous Coronavirus.
Enzo and his wife, Fiorella, had two sons, Riccardo and Francesco, and he was often present at both the stadium and the Giallorossi’s training facilities throughout Er Pupone’s career in the Italian capital.
“Lo sceriffo” as he came to be known, Enzo Totti ultimately succumbed to the deadly virus this evening at the age 76.
