Udinese executive Pierpaolo Marino: “We were wronged. There wasn’t a hand ball.”

Pierpaolo Marino of Udinese

Udinese’s General Director Pierpaolo Marino expressed his dissatisfaction with referee Marco Di Bello’s decision to award Roma a late penalty during tonight’s 1-1 draw.

The Italian executive was puzzled by the incident after Di Bello ruled Zebrette defender Marvin Zeegelaar handled the ball and granted Roma a penalty kick.

“Sometimes the result we deserve escapes us, just like tonight’s incident.” he told DAZN.

“I want to understand Di Bello’s penalty decision. If you look at the images, where is there a penalty? Nobody saw a hand ball, nobody.”

“Tonight my team was wronged. Morally we feel like winners because we played a great game but were unlucky tonight.”

“I’d also like to add that we were on a nine-match losing streak with Di Bello refereeing our matches. Not even a terrible manager is capable of this.”

Finally, “Tonight’s match was decided by a dubious episode. I have opinions that conflict with reality.”
