Udinese’s Udogie: “This is how we prepared to play Roma, we did well on the counter.”

Udinese wide-man Destiny Udogie weighed in on his team’s performance after they dismantled Roma 4-0 this evening.

Udogie gave the hosts an early lead less than five minutes into the game, capitalising on a mistake from Rick Karsdorp and firing a goal past Rui Patricio.

“This was a tough game but we did incredibly well on the counter tonight,” he told DAZN.

“We also closed their midfielders down really well. But this is how we were prepared to play: stay compact and hit them on the counterattack.”

Adding, “My goal? I knew right away where the ball was headed so I chased it down and ended up scoring. I’m very happy.”
