As Roma prepare to face Real Betis in the return leg in Seville, Mourinho’s men may be forced to play in the Europa League without Nicolo Zaniolo for longer than initially expected.
Following the player’s suspension in the last match caused by a red card Zaniolo picked up in the final minutes of Roma’s 1:2 defeat the Stadio Olimpico, UEFA have drafted a communication regarding the 23-year-old suspension that suggest the youngster may face further punishment.
UEFA could opt to further evaluate the player’s behavior on video and extend the attacker’s suspension in the coming days.
