UEFA director Andrea Traverso spoke about Roma’s Financial Fair Play limitations.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Traverso – Director of Financial Sustainability and Research at UEFA – discussed the situation that Italian football teams find themselves in with regards to the financial parameters they must follow.

“Italian teams are the ones who have to be more careful, but this year there has been an awareness to do things correctly and by the book. The Scudetto was won by Napoli with exemplary management this year.”

“Some teams like Milan have embarked on a virtuous path with excellent results. Others are a bit late, but they have started the recovery by controlling costs. Roma have said that perhaps they will go beyond some parameters of the settlement agreement and will pay a fine instead of selling players.”

“We will carry on the necessary inspections in October,” Traverso added.
