Nicolo Zaniolo will not be taking part in Roma’s upcoming Europa League group stage games after picking up an unnecessary red card in the Giallorossi’s first leg with Real Betis at the Stadio Olimpico.

Following the red card, the youngster was suspended for the return leg in Seville where Roma drew 1-1 with Betis.

UEFA have officially extended the punishment for the last two remaining group stage affairs with Ludogorets and Helsinki.

If Roma were to win both games and advance to the next round, Zaniolo would return at Jose Mourinho’s disposal in February.
