UEFA fired Mourinho from Football Board before his resignation

Andy Mattioli

There is growing tension between Roma head coach Jose Mourinho and UEFA.

Following the recent events in the aftermath of the Europa League final in Budapest, Jose Mourinho walked away from UEFA’s Football Board after handing in a letter of resignation to UEFA Chief of Football Zvonimir Boban.

However, Mundo Deportivo reveals that the football organization had already decided to fire Mourinho from the Board before the Portuguese technician’s letter.

Mourinho’s decision comes in light of UEFA’s decision to ban him for four European fixtures for his confrontation with referee Anthony Taylor at full-time at the Puskas Arena.
