UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin takes Anthony Taylor’s side versus Roma

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin stepped in Anthony Taylor’s defense in the aftermath of the Europa League final controversy involving Roma supporters.

In a recent interview with NOS.nl, Ceferin addressed the events that took place following Roma’s defeat in Budapest, and more specifically Roma supporters confronting Taylor at Budapest Airport.

“We must punish people for bullying the referee. We haven’t had time for that yet, because we’ve had a lot of finals in recent weeks,” he said.

“We are going to talk about it after the season comes to a complete end and I expect proposals from the referee committee on how to proceed. All we can do is punish people afterwards.”
