Following an injury scare in the form of a knock to the thigh muscle in Uruguay’s match against Peru for the World Cup Qualifiers, Matias Viña seems to be OK. The Roma defender sat out tonight’s Bolivia clash, with Uruguay winning the game 4-2.
The coach of Uruguay’s national team, Oscar Tabarez, shared an update on the left-back’s condition.
“Viña is doing very well. He had a minor problem that forced him to forfeit the game with Peru. The day after we ran some tests that revealed he’s doing absolutely fine.”
“It was my decision to rest him for tonight. We thought it would be good to give him a rest so that he’ll be ready for the next game.”
