Roma’s priority of strengthening the midfield revolves around their number one target, Denis Zakaria. However, the Giallorossi keep a list of names in case the deal for the Swiss international were to fall through.
Among these names, Il Tempo reports, are Florian Grillitsch of German side Hoffenhaim and Matias Vecino of Inter.
Vecino has emerged as a potential candidate for the midfield given his uncertain future with the Nerazzurri.
The Uruguayan midfielder – after sitting out most of last season injured – has not been able to climb in the hierarchies of Simone Inzaghi’s team.
Unhappy with his limited playing time, Vecino has reportedly asked Inter to sell him in January if a satisfactory offer were to arrive.
Roma could consider Vecino as a last minute deal in a tough January window.
