After having sold midfielder Allan to Everton, Napoli are pressing for Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout.
The Partenopei have made the Frenchman one of their primary targets to replace the Brazilian, but Roma have slapped a massive €35-40 million price tag on the player, according to La Repubblica.
What makes a potential deal even more complicated for Napoli is the fact that president Aurelio De Laurentiis would prefer to add players into a deal while the Giallorossi will only accept cash.
For his part, Veretout is incredibly settled in Rome and is aiming to remain. Furthermore, he would require wages worth at least €3 million per season from Napoli, who are only offering €2.7 million.
Roma’s intention remains to try and repel all overtures from Gennaro Gattuso’s side for the Frenchman.
