Veretout at half-time: “Genoa defend well, we have to be more aggressive in the second half.”

Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout was interviewed by DAZN after the conclusion of the first half of his side’s showdown in Liguria against Genoa.

The Giallorossi entered the break up 1-0 thanks to a last-second headed goal scored by Henrikh Mkhitaryan from a corner kick.

“It’s a tough match against a team that defends well,” the Frenchman admitted.

“We have to keep an eye on them on the counter-attack, but we need to keep it up and play better. It’s not enough, we have to be more aggressive in the second half.”

Roma defended well against Rolando Maran’s side in the opening 45 minutes as they conceded only one shot on target. However, they have wasted several goalscoring opportunities while in Genoa’s penalty area.
