Veretout nearing return after ankle injury

It’s been a difficult start to the Roma tenure of Jordan Veretout. The Giallorossi knew upon his arrival that he had a small ankle problem, which has kept him out of all of Roma’s preseason friendlies. However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the midfielder is ready to return to the fold and could potentially be in-line for a call-up this weekend for the team’s first official match of the season against Genoa. On Sunday, both Veretout and Pastore took part in full training before being granted a day off on Monday along with the rest of the team.
