Veretout pleased with Roma’s response against Udinese following Juve loss

Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout was thrilled with his team’s response today against Udinese following their loss last weekend to Juventus.

The Frenchman led the Giallorossi with two goals against the Friulian side, who were in strong form entering the tie.

“We had to win today after we dropped points in Turin. We had a great first half but could’ve done better in the second,” he said to Roma TV.

“Sometimes we give away chances to the opposition too easily. Nonetheless, we had a good attitude today and need to continue playing just like this. I have to thank Mancio for his assist, I’m glad that I managed to score! Above all, though, the most important thing was a victory.”

“Fonseca asked me to get forward more today, so being able to score was nice. Again, the only thing that mattered today was winning.”
