Veretout ready to return, likely to start against Sassuolo

Jordan Veretout has missed the first two matches of Roma’s campaign due to an injury he sustained upon arrival at the club. The Frenchman, however, is now going at full speed and ready to return. Il Messaggero reports that Veretout will likely be the starter next to Bryan Cristante for the Giallorossi’s next league clash versus Sassuolo.

Since arriving, Veretout has gotten on well with Amadou Diawara and a strong bond has been formed between the two, who are connected by their French language. It’s a bond that Roma could see blossom even on the pitch. Fonseca is reflecting on his 4-2-3-1 after having conceded four goals in the first two matches. The Portuguese boss could make several changes, including putting Zaniolo on the right, Lorenzo Pellegrini as the trequartista, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the left with Edin Dzeko in his #9 role.
