Veretout to undergo scans tomorrow following yesterday’s injury

RomaPress Staff

Roma are awaiting a definitive diagnosis on midfielder Jordan Veretout after he was injured during yesterday’s victory against Fiorentina.

The Frenchman was forced off in the 61st minute of yesterday’s affair after he tweaked a muscle in his groin. He was spotted walking gingerly in the post-match as fear grew that he could face a significant amount of time.

Today, Vereout underwent physical therapy at Roma’s training center and is scheduled to undergo scans tomorrow at Villa Stuart hospital. The fear is that Veretout could face up to 4-6 weeks on the sidelines.

His absence would be a tough pill for manager Paulo Fonseca to swallow. The midfielder ranks second in terms of minutes played for the Giallorossi this season with a total of 1,843.
