Rona midfielder Jordan Veretout has morphed into one of the team’s most integral parts since he joined in 2019 from Fiorentina.
The Frenchman is enjoying his most prolific season as a professional this term with 10 goals and 2 assists. His current contract does not expire until June 2024, however, Roma are keen to ink him to a new deal.
Despite strong interest shown by Napoli, Veretout’s agent, Mario Giuffredi, confirmed today that contract renewal discussions with Roma have opened.
“We’ve discussed a new contract,” he confirmed to Corriere dello Sport. “Interest from Napoli? That doesn’t concern us.”
He continued, “(Roma General Director) Tiago Pinto made a huge impression on me. He has clear ideas and is very willing to listen and dialogue. As long as he’s supported in the difficult times, Roma has selected a great executive to build an important future.”
