Verona’s Salvatore Bocchetti disappointed with loss to Roma

Verona manager Salvatore Bocchetti sounded upset with his side’s late minute defeat to Roma and criticised the referee’s decision to hand Dawidowicz a red card that would put Hellas Verona in difficulty for the remainder of the match.

“Today the boys gave everything. Too bad certain episodes went against us and not in our favour,” he told DAZN after the final whistle.

“We don’t deserve our current position in the league. Even when we were down to ten men we gave everything. Had we played eleven vs eleven we would have won tonight.”

“The guys got off to a great start, we proved that we were in it. We are on the right path and we must continue to fight with our heads held high,” Bocchetti concluded.
